Chase
Age: 4 Years
Gender: Male
Size: 75lbs
Heartworm Status: Negative
Chase came to us with very serious injuries from being hit by a vehicle.
Our team acted quickly and got him to AMC where we found out he would need to undergo a very extensive surgery with an expensive and lengthy rehabilitation.
Today, Chase is happy and healthy. He is a very smart boy that knows basic commands. He is eager to please and loves people, especially men. He loves being with his people as much as possible and would be a great buddy to go on adventures with.
He has been around various other dogs but would do best with another submissive dog or given time to warm up and be confident in a group of dogs.
Chase would not do well with a home that has farm animals or cats.

Hank
Hank has the best grin, and he’s extra happy that he’s heartworm negative after his treatment and is ready to go to his forever home! If you’d like to meet the cutest guy with the shortest little legs, we have the perfect pup for you! Hank is 3 years old, neutered, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Jason
Age: 2 Years
Gender: Male
Weight: 51 lbs
Heartworm Status: Negative
In March, our organization received dozens of calls about 6 dogs thrown out at a local business. We spent weeks setting the trap, watching, resetting the trap, and praying they go in. And with each dog we caught, we rearranged the shelter to make space.
Jason was one of those dogs that were caught after being dumped. They were all suffering from mange but the biggest obstacle we were facing was their extreme fear of people.
Jason is learning that people aren't so bad but he's still a shy boy. We'll feel strongly that he'll bloom with one on one care as he adores our staff. His sister, Annabeth, is his best bud and they enjoy playtime to run around outside

Jewel
Age: 5 Years 10 Months
Gender: Female
Weight: 47lbs
Heartworm Status: Negative
Jewel is our current longest resident.
She is a lean, athletic girl, who would be a great companion for someone with an active lifestyle. She loves going on walks and playing in our play yard, but she also loves spending time snuggled up with her people. Jewel is great with all people and enjoys the company of others, including children.
Jewel is dog reactive and because of this, she requires a home with no other pets. This is perfect for her because she craves a lot of love and attention.
We know that finding her perfect home may take longer than others, but we know that family is out there somewhere!

Maverick
Age: 9 Years 8 Months
Gender: Male
Weight: 66lbs
Heartworm Status: Negative
When Maverick was found, he was emaciated with wounds covering his face. Although he was terrified, he was very friendly!
Today, Maverick is just a goofy guy that keeps us laughing. He has a great personality, loves to smile, and does a happy dance when he gets visitors. He is very toy-driven and even the toughest toys have to be monitored with Mav!
He would likely do best as an only dog, but he enjoys his neighbors in the kennel system, so we believe he would do well with a submissive female.

Nubs
We can’t believe this handsome guy is still at our shelter. He’s just stunning. He’s also super sweet, great with other dogs, and has been treated for heartworms. Nubs has the cutest little nubby tail (hence his name), his unique eye color and coat color patterns set him apart, and his big, athletic body make him an excellent pet, especially for an active household. If you’re looking for a big, silly, handsomest of handsome dogs, we hope you’ll consider Nubs!
Reese
Age: 3 Years
Gender: Male
Weight: 56 lbs
Heartworm Status: *in treatment*
If you're looking for a real-life teddy bear, Reese is the guy for you!
Reese came to us very underweight, had some muscle atrophy in his head, an eye infection, a rotted out K9, and infected puncture wounds around his neck and ears.
His teeth lead us to believe he’s lived his life on a chain. We do not believe he was used for ill intentions, but it does appear he was in a dog fight due to the few puncture wounds found on him.
Reese is a super sweet, goofy boy! He does great with people, including children. He has not been dog tested at this time, but he would not do well with a home that has farm animals or cats.

Rosita
Age: 3 Years 8 Months
Gender: Female
Weight: 48lbs
Heartworm Status: Treated
Rosita was rescued from a local trailer park. We believe she was dumped out and the residents had been caring for her the best they could.
She suffered from a terrible skin infection, along with sarcoptic mange. Since then, we have continued to struggle with her skin to the point that we wonder if she will ever fully grow all of her hair back.
She’s been on very strict skincare and meds but it wasn’t until our vet put her on hydrolyzed food, that we started seeing a difference. We are amazed by how gorgeous her coat is today!
Due to Rosita's severe allergies, she will be required to stay on her very strict diet for the rest of her life.
Rosita is dog reactive and because of this, she requires a home with no other pets. This is perfect for her because she craves a lot of love and attention.

Spencer
Age: 3 Years 8 Months
Gender: Male
Weight: 69lbs
Heartworm Status: Negative
Spencer has heart-stopping good looks, accented by his floppy ears.
He loves playing with toys in the play yard, but sometimes he'd rather just be lazy. It sometimes takes him a little time to get used to new people, but once he does, he loves the attention. He does very well while on a leash and when taking baths.
He arrived with a female dog, so we believe he would probably do well with a submissive female in the home but may do best as the only dog in the home.

Xander
Welcome to SCAR, Xander! He’s been with us for a bit, but we just now had a chance to give him the photoshoot he deserved and show off what a handsome little guy he is! He’s about 3 years old, heartworm negative, and about 25 pounds.
In anticipation of a few questions we are usually asked about little guys…we do not know if he is potty trained. He was found by a Good Samaritan on the side of the road. We also don’t know for sure about his lineage for the same reason (we can make some guesses, but that’s all they are. Guesses.)
What we can tell you is he loves our staff. He is hesitant about new people and will defend himself and his food (once you’ve been really hungry, you don’t forget it easily) from strangers, but once he realizes you mean no harm, he’s a love and gives staff no issues. He did well with the two puppies he was found with but does resource guard so must be fed separately (something we recommend anyway).
He has a big personality for such a little body and keeps you entertained. Staff are working on his tendency to resource guard and he’s having a blast playing in the yard and getting attention from all the ladies on staff. He’s sure everything is about him, and we see no reason to tell him otherwise.
If you’d like to meet Xander please send us a message and we’ll be happy to introduce you!
